Electrician

This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial control systems and related electrical and mechanical equipment in a clean, food-safe production environment. You will work closely with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize system performance, ensure safety and reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, AC, DC, and servo drives.
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems to ensure reliable operation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize system performance and support process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system changes.
  • Ensure the safety and proper operation of electrical systems using voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and logic tools.
  • Support minor mechanical repairs, welding, and fabrication as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for layout changes, system upgrades, and improvements.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Assist with HVAC and building automation systems to maintain facility comfort and efficiency.
  • Apply 5S practices and use CMMS tools to plan, document, and track maintenance work.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership and other technicians to plan and execute necessary repairs and projects.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and contribute to a strong, helpful team culture.
Essential Skills
  • At least 3 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician or in industrial electrical maintenance.
  • At least 3 years of experience in industrial controls maintenance.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repairs.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including 480V industrial power and electrical wiring.
  • Hands-on experience with conduit installation, wiring, pulling wire, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience with PLC platforms such as Fanuc and Siemens.
  • Strong understanding of both electrical and mechanical systems in an industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with HVAC and building automation systems.
  • Proficiency with tools such as voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and logic tools for diagnostics.
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of 5S methodology, CMMS systems, Microsoft Office, and the metric system.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associates degree or Journeyman-level qualification in a related field is a plus.
  • Experience with Mitsubishi controllers is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to compressed air, vacuum, and chilled water systems.
  • Experience in project management and leadership is valuable, especially for first-shift responsibilities.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and contractors for system improvements.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with leadership and cross-functional teams.

Work Environment

This position is based in an extremely clean, busy, food-safe production facility. The role operates on 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.), with training provided on 1st shift (7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.). The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and effective communication among technicians, leadership, and other mechanics to coordinate repairs and improvements. You will work with industrial electrical and control systems, HVAC and building automation, and various mechanical and utility systems. Steel-toe boots are required, and you will be provided with a white smock to wear on the production floor.
