About Electrical B&G Department:
The Electrical Department at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA) is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading all electrical systems throughout the museum campus. The department ensures the safe and reliable operation of power distribution, lighting, emergency power systems, fire alarm infrastructure, and other critical building systems that support museum operations, exhibitions, collections, and visitor experiences. In addition to daily maintenance and emergency response, the department manages capital improvement projects, energy-efficiency initiatives, and electrical support for facility expansions while maintaining compliance with all applicable codes, safety standards, and operational requirements. Under the leadership of the Electrical Systems Manager, the department plays a vital role in preserving a safe, functional, and world-class environment for staff, visitors, and the museum"s collections.
General Information:
We are currently seeking a dependable Maintenance Electrician to join our Facilities and Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout our facility. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of building systems, minimizing downtime, and supporting daily operations.
