TITLE: ELECTRICIAN
WORK SCHEDULE: 12 months
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt/Support Wage Schedule Level H
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Constructs, installs, modifies and repairs electrical services and circuits. Trouble-shoots electrical failures. Coordinates activities with other trades and subcontracts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Constructs, installs and modifies electrical services and circuits in accordance with prepared specifications and the national and local electrical codes;
- Calculates loads, wire, conduit size for installs and repairs;
- Trouble-shoots failures in electrical systems, assesses repair or replacement requirements and makes recommendations to the supervisor for in-house crew, outside contractor or other trade shop work orders;
- Coordinates essential functions of new construction and electrical repairs with other trades personnel;
- Performs preventative maintenance;
- Estimates costs of small electrical projects;
- Utilizes office equipment, such as telephone, computer, printer and copier;
- Operates a motor vehicle and power driven machinery;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- Four years of experience as a journeyman level Electrician in the construction or maintenance field;
- Completion of a recognized training program in the field;
- Possession of a valid Arizona driver's license.
B. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Physical exertion is required as a normal part of assigned duties;
- Assistance is available to perform unusually physically demanding tasks;
- Work may involve lifting and carrying objects weighing as much as 50 pounds as a regular part of the job;
- May require occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds;
- Considerable walking, climbing, stooping, twisting, bending, reaching and sitting for considerable periods of time may be required as a normal part of the job;
- Employees may have minor restrictions of motion; however, the restrictions must not prohibit performance of assigned duties, and vision and hearing should be rated as acceptable to obtain the required driver's license.

A. TIME MANAGEMENT: Must plan two to twelve weeks in advance;

D. LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY: Must use sound judgment in performing the job and has responsibility for some equipment, tools or money, or access to confidential records;
EVALUATION PROCEDURE: In accordance with Governing Board policy;
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director of Facilities
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
