This position will provide skilled electrical work to the buildings on the Capitol Complex. Job responsibilities of the Electrician position include:
Install, alter, maintain and repair electrical wiring, apparatus and equipment for communication, lighting, heating, and power, while adhering to all City, State and Federal codes.
Review plans, blueprints, and specifications for electrical projects.
Recommend project changes and define detailed project tasks and scope.
Estimate time, labor and materials costs.
Use modern electrical test instruments to troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment and make needed repairs.
Conduct preventative maintenance programs and procedures and recommend changes.
Purchase parts and supplies according to state rules and regulations.
Maintain records and drawings, which includes working with computer maintenance programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Current Minnesota Class A Journey Worker license. Your resume must clearly indicate your current license to be considered.
Valid Class D driver's license with acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications
EXPERIENCE IN:
Preventative maintenance of electrical distribution systems in commercial operations with multiple utility feeders and loop distribution systems up to 15,000 volts
New construction and remodeling
Nondestructive maintenance techniques (thermography, ultrasonic testing, vibration analysis, etc.)
Repairing and maintaining frequency drives, soft starts, programmable controllers and similar equipment
Knowledge of SCADA controlled electrical systems
Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications and contract terminology related to electrical installations
Physical Requirements
Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
Climb a ladder while carrying up to 30 pounds
Perform other physical tasks needed to perform all related job duties
A PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL CRT TEST REQUIREMENT MINIMUM IS MEDIUM-HEAVY, EX: ABLE TO LIFT 31-45 LBS FREQUENTLY 100-300 REPS AN HOUR.
