Description
Under general supervision, to perform journey-level electrician work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring systems and related equipment and fixtures in County facilities.
NOTE: Candidates who meet the employment standards will be invited to take an in-personal practical examination tentatively scheduled for the week of July 20th, 2026. Qualifying candidates will be notified of the examination instructions.
Typical Tasks
The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Each individual in the classification does not necessarily perform all duties listed.
Employment Standards
Sufficient education, training, and experience to demonstrate the ability to perform the above tasks, plus the possession and direct application of the following knowledge and abilities:
Training and Experience Note: The required knowledge and abilities are attained through training and experience equivalent to the successful completion of a recognized apprenticeship program for electricians,
or
Four (4) years of equivalent electrician training and/or electrician experience,
or
Possession of a valid Electrician Certification issued by the State of California.
