Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract
  • Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension and conversion to full-time)
  • Pay Rate: $25.00 $26.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
  • Overtime: Overtime expected

Job Summary

As an Electrician, you will inspect, repair, and maintain mechanical and electrical equipment in assigned facilities. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function, responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. The candidate will be working in an industrial park environment encompassing mainly office buildings, warehouses, and laboratories. The candidate will work with a team but will have individual work orders to fulfill.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee electrical and lighting systems' general operation, repair, and maintenance; perform new installations of equipment.
  • Check, repair, and replace functional components of electrical and lighting systems, including valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, and pipes.
  • Assure that equipment is being maintained and operating in a safe manner.
  • Review historical maintenance records to create proactive inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Provide efficient and reliable service to customers.
  • Apply general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
  • Have a broad knowledge of own job discipline and some knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values; may convince to reach an agreement.
  • Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team.
  • Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
  • Attend a small operations meeting daily.
  • Complete daily work order assignments.
  • Gather tools and parts as required.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.

Required Skills

  • Electrical experience
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems
  • Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset
  • Advanced math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide; ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Client-facing role; good customer service skills
  • Highly professional attitude
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Self-sufficient with tasks

Preferred Skills

  • Commercial experience
  • CMMS experience

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school diploma preferred
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program preferred
  • Master Electrician license required as dictated by local electrical codes
  • Valid Driver's license required
  • Electrician's license (nice to have)
  • NFPA 70E certificate (nice to have)
  • NFPA Qualified Electrical Worker certificate (nice to have)

Required Experience

  • 2 3 years of job-related electrical experience

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Candidate will be working in an industrial park environment including office buildings, warehouses, and laboratories
  • Must meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs/ladders
  • Ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
  • Background check with drug screen required (CBRE Safety Specific with Drug Screen package)
  • Overtime expected
