Position Summary

General repairs to all types of A.C. and D.C. motors, controls, switch gear, installing conduit, pulling wire, building and wiring panel boards, using all types of electrical testing equipment. Repairing all digital and analog control equipment. Locking out electrical circuits as requested. Be able to read and follow wiring diagrams and schematics and equipment manuals when repairing or connecting up any and all types of electrical switch gear and controls.

Responsibilities

EQUIPMENT AND TOOLS:

All required hand tools, electrical testing instruments and, safety equipment such as: gloves, blankets, hot sticks, hydraulic and manual conduit bending equipment. Any other tools and equipment to complete assigned jobs.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Exercise caution to follow all safety rules and regulations while working on any and all equipment assigned to repair or operate. Should have some knowledge of first aid procedures and treating electrical shock until emergency response arrives. Attend safety meetings as instructed.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Climbing, lifting, carrying, kneeling, reaching, stooping, standing, pulling, walking, normal vision and hearing, work in confined areas, and must not be color blind.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Prefer 5 years relative industrial electrician experience

Good communication skills, ability to handle multiple assignments, good troubleshooting skills

Experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting a plus

Ability to work both 12-hour rotating shift and 4/10 schedule

On the Job Training:

Computer Based Learning (CBL's), also off site training is provided when needed depending on job position and requirements.

COMMENTS:

Should have good coordination, understand and carry out all job instructions. Should be able to read and understand prints and sketches. Should be able to read and understand job safety reviews. Should know electrical wiring codes. Should know hand signals for crane. Must be able to work well with others.

Certain roles at Firestone Polymers are required to be on Emergency Response Teams (ERT) to respond to any emergencies that could come up at the site. Being on the ERT team requires passing a physical and additional trainings, including exterior firefighting, high-angle rescue, HazMat response, etc. The role you're applying for could require ERT training. It's also possible that ERT training will be required when moving into new roles or transferring departments.
