Job Description
Job Title - Electro-Mechanical Technician 1
Location - Richmond VA 23231 - 100% onsite
Shift - 1st shift - 6am-6pm Sun-Wed/Sun-Tues alternating / 2nd shift 6pm-6am Wed-Sat/Thur-Sat alternating
Duration - 3+ Months Contract with possible extension depending on performance & client needs
Pay Range - $28.00/hr - $32.00/hr. on W2
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe and reliable operation of production electrical testing equipment
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance independently
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems with minimal supervision
- Identify equipment issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement corrective actions
- Accurately document maintenance work, downtime, and repairs in CMMS systems
- Follow and continuously improve standard work procedures and maintenance practices
- Collaborate with operators, technicians, and engineers to resolve equipment issues
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and actively support safety initiatives
Basic Qualifications
- Degree in related field. Technical or vocational training with certificate OR
- 5-8 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment OR
- 4 years military service in a related field
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment independently
- Experience performing preventive maintenance and documenting work orders
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and standard computer skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with conveyors, automated systems, or electrical test equipment
- Experience participating in root cause analysis or continuous improvement initiatives
- Experience troubleshooting automation systems, such as VFDs, Servos, PLCs, and Robotics
