Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Location: Boonton, NJ 07005
Employment Type: Right-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $18.00–$18.25/hr base pay.
Total pay as a contractor: $23.73/hr, paid weekly
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Overtime may be required.

Pay Structure

• New contract employees receive an additional 30% above the base pay rate as part of the client’s contractor compensation structure.
• Upon permanent conversion, the 30% increase ends and employees transition to the company’s benefits package, including PTO and holiday pay.

Overview

The Electro-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, wiring, fitting, adjusting, and aligning electro-mechanical components and equipment. This position works from blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, work instructions, and SAP production schedules in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire electro-mechanical equipment, subassemblies, and wire harnesses according to blueprints, schematics, models, and work instructions.
• Perform precision fitting, adjusting, and alignment of components within required tolerances.
• Build wire harness assemblies and perform through-hole PCB assembly as needed.
• Set up, operate, and maintain production equipment, including engravers, presses, crimpers, riveting machines, and encapsulation equipment.
• Use hand and power tools safely while maintaining established quality and workmanship standards.
• Access digital drawings, monitor job status, track component availability, and enter production information using basic computer systems.
• Enter and maintain information in Excel and SAP databases.
• Follow 5S workplace organization practices and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Support other production operations and departments as needed.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of electro-mechanical assembly experience.
• Mechanical assembly experience combined with electrical or electronic safety knowledge may be considered.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and color-coded component diagrams.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Basic computer skills.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work across multiple production operations as needed.
