Job Title: Electro Mechanical Assembler (1st Shift)
Location: Boonton, NJ 07005
Pay rate: $18.25/hr
Work schedule: 1st Shift | 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required based on business needs.
The Electro Mechanical Assembler is responsible for the complex and diversified assembly of a variety of products using mechanical drawings, blueprints, and structured work instructions. This role requires intricate fitting, adjusting, and aligning of a considerable number of parts involving close tolerances and interrelated factors to complete final products, units, or sub-assemblies. Operating within an ISO-certified environment, the assembler utilizes hand tools, power tools, and production machinery while following daily schedules managed through SAP.
Key Responsibilities
Complex Assembly & Wiring: Assemble and wire complex equipment, sub-assemblies, and harness assemblies following strict blueprints, models, and model prints. Perform skilled adjusting, fitting, and aligning within close tolerances.
Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain basic production machines, including component engravers, presses, crimpers, riveting machines, or encapsulation machinery.
Technical System Logging: Perform light computer work to monitor and report job status and component availability. Open blueprints or work instructions digitally, and input data into Excel or SAP databases.
Cross-Functional Flexibility: Demostrate flexibility by performing various operational tasks on products both inside and outside of the home department, including potential thru-hole PCB assembly.
Safety & Workplace Organization: Actively maintain a safe, clean, hazard-free, and efficient work area by applying 5S methodology steps and consistently utilizing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Quality Standards: Deliver exceptional workmanship standards that strictly align with prescribed corporate quality policies in an ISO environment.
Must Have Skills / Requirements
Blueprint Literacy: Proven ability to accurately read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, mechanical drawings, and product structures.
Component Identification: Sharp visual acuity to read and identify proper electronic/mechanical components and color schemes.
Tool & Equipment Literacy: Proficiency in the safe operation of standard manual hand tools, power tools, and basic production machinery.
Communication & Professionalism: Good verbal communication skills coupled with a dedication to maintaining excellent workmanship and quality standards.
Education & Experience
Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of hands-on electro-mechanical assembly experience. Candidates with strong mechanical assembly backgrounds who possess foundational electronic/electrical safety knowledge are also acceptable.
