Job Description: Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Position Summary

The Electro-Mechanical Assembler is responsible for fitting, assembling, testing, and inspecting precision electro-mechanical equipment and assemblies. This role requires the ability to interpret engineering documentation, perform detailed assembly work using specialized tools, and maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electronic components, subassemblies, and finished products according to work orders, engineering drawings, sample assemblies, and verbal instructions.

  • Build and test a wide variety of precision mechanical and electronic assemblies while maintaining exceptional quality and production efficiency.

  • Utilize crimping tools, soldering equipment, microscopes, and small hand tools to complete assembly tasks.

  • Perform electronic assembly, including wiring, component installation, cable routing, and soldering.

  • Conduct assembly and inspection work under a microscope as required.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and technical documentation.

  • Provide recommendations to improve manufacturability, reduce production costs, and enhance product reliability.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by performing housekeeping and cleanup duties upon completion of assigned tasks.

  • Complete additional projects and assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience assembling electro-mechanical assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • J-STD-001 Certification preferred.

  • Knowledge of IPC soldering and crimping standards is a plus.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.

  • Proficiency using small hand tools, crimping tools, and soldering equipment.

  • Ability to determine and follow proper assembly methods and sequences.

  • Ability to perform precision work while viewing through a microscope.

  • Ability to distinguish colors and maintain excellent visual accuracy.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings, technical procedures, and wire lists written in English.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.

  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.

  • Ability to work occasional overtime or extended hours as business needs require.

  • Demonstrates commitment to company values, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
