Job Description: GALT Aerospace seeks a uniquely qualified full-time, hourly, Electro-Assembler responsible for cabling, assembling, testing, and troubleshooting products and devices that combine both electrical and mechanical components such as control panels, actuators, power distribution systems. This role requires a blend of mechanical aptitude and electrical knowledge.
• Assembly: position, align, and fasten units, parts, cables, and subassemblies using a variety of hand and power tools. This involves working with precise tooling, cables, printed circuit board assemblies and control systems.
• Technical Interpretation: Able to read and interpret engineering documents per ASME Y14, including blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and work instructions, to determine the proper assembly sequence and specifications.
• Troubleshoot and Repair: Identify and resolve assembly issues electrical and mechanical systems, performing rework or repairs as necessary and reporting major problems to supervisors or engineers.
• Wiring and Cabling: Fabricate, route, strip, crimp, and connect cables and harnesses according to specifications and safety standards.
• Soldering: Perform surface mount and through-hole soldering on printed circuit boards, wiring solder splices, connector solder cups, etc.
• Quality Control: Inspect parts for compliance, perform quality control checks, and verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, pin gauges).
• Documentation: Record job transactions, document assembly processes, test results, travelers and electronic database entry.
• Safety and Standard Adherence: Follow all company procedures, quality standards, FOD, ESD, safety regulations.
• Collaboration: Interact and provide feedback to engineers and supervisors on design and production issues. Work in a team environment with your peers. Train other assemblers as needed.
• Operate equipment such as crimp presses, wire twisters and wire strippers
• Conduct functional and continuity tests of wire harnesses and cable assemblies
• Use hand tools or power tools to rework or modify parts.
• Prepares work to be accomplished by studying parts lists and gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
• Records any changes in design by marking redlines in the required documentation and reporting to supervisor.
• Maintains inventory by checking stock to determine supply levels, placing, and tracking orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
• Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret complex technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
• Must have IPC J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 certificate.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
• Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that are often in very small tight spaces.
• High school diploma or equivalent is generally required.
• Technical certification is preferred.
• 2-3 years minimum as an assembler.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearance required.

• Able to lift/move up to 30lbs.
Pay Scale: At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of the total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $23-$28 per hour, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
