    Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician

    Your day at Ericson

    Picture this: you arrive at our Willoughby, OH facility and step onto a production line that powers jobsites across the nation. You review the day’s work orders, pull prints and schematics, and prioritize tasks with your lead. You build and wire electro-mechanical assemblies to NEC standards, verify conformance through inspections and tests, and log production data in our ERP system. Along the way, you collaborate with teammates, share techniques, and keep your workstation clean and safe.

    Work schedule

    • Primary shift: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Mon–Thu)
    • Other shift options: 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM; 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM; 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (all Mon–Thu)

    What you’ll build and do

    • Assemble electrical and mechanical systems by installing components, subassemblies, and wiring in accordance with NEC standards.
    • Troubleshoot and correct defects by adjusting, repairing, or replacing electrical component parts to meet specifications.
    • Carry out a wide range of assembly operations using hand and power tools, production equipment, and testing instrumentation.
    • Position, align, and adjust workpieces and electrical parts for efficient wiring and assembly.
    • Operate assembly equipment safely and consistently.
    • Read and interpret schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports to determine materials and assembly steps.
    • Share knowledge by explaining assembly procedures and techniques to coworkers when needed.
    • Drill, tap, and punch openings in specified locations to mount components or route wiring and instruments.
    • Inspect and test wiring installations and finished assemblies to verify product conformance.
    • Use production schedules and coordinate with supervisors/leads to set priorities.
    • Record labor time and quantities in the ERP system accurately.
    • Notify your supervisor/lead of equipment malfunctions requiring attention.
    • Clean and maintain equipment, machinery, and your workstation daily.

    What you bring

    • High school diploma or GED and 2+ years of related assembly experience, including panel wiring and conduit installation.
    • Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical blueprints, production/assembly instructions, parts lists, and verbal notes to assemble, wire, and install a wide variety of components.
    • Apply prior experience and sound assembly practices to follow detailed written or verbal instructions.
    • Comfort working with limited supervision on moderately complex builds.
