Role snapshot

  • Maintain and improve bakery production equipment and facility systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, computer controls).
  • Own preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and installations that keep production safe, compliant, and efficient.
  • Work independently and safely on energized and mechanical systems in a high-output environment.

Core responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment reliability and speedy, high-quality repairs.
  • Support and elevate the PM program to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Analyze technical information to diagnose issues and implement fixes.
  • Perform mechanical/electrical maintenance on production and facility support equipment.
  • Operate and test machinery to confirm diagnostics and validate repairs.
  • Follow company safety rules, procedures, and Lock-out/Tag-out.
  • Uphold GMPs, personal and food safety standards, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems and all plant electrical/mechanical assets (motors, instrumentation, distribution, feed controls) and deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Complete work orders on schedule; document work in software, work orders, and logs; communicate clearly with all teams.
  • Assist with changeovers and startups; resolve issues in real time.
  • Identify parts needs; maintain inventory accuracy; manage reorders.
  • Ensure finished goods meet top-tier quality specifications.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and team projects; recommend process enhancements.
  • Maintain boilers, water heaters, conditioning equipment, and site water distribution.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the main electrical panel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in manufacturing maintenance
  • 3–5 years of electrical experience
  • 2–3 years of bakery experience preferred
  • Basic machining; capable with industrial electrical control wiring
  • Skilled in troubleshooting pneumatics, light industrial food production equipment, and packaging machinery
  • Metal fabrication and welding
  • Conduit bending proficiency
  • Understanding of relay logic
  • Experience with 480v–208v systems
  • NEC familiarity
  • Blueprint and schematic literacy

Physical requirements

  • Stand up to 10 hours around machinery
  • Regular stooping, bending, and crouching
  • Lift 60 lbs once per hour; 10–50 lbs repeatedly
  • General and detailed cleaning (sweep/mop)
  • Comfortable climbing ladders
