Job Description What if this were your next challenge? Do you enjoy tracing a fault from the mains to the I/O map? Are you at home wiring a new coater line in the morning and rebuilding a motor after lunch? If yes, you’ll thrive here.
Your impact Build out new production lines by installing conduit, power feeds, and control wiring for hot melt/emulsion/solvent coaters, slitters, sheeters, rewinders, and guillotines. Bridge equipment together: terminate power drops, interconnect machines, and verify cable paths. Commission automation: calibrate sensors and instruments; operate and validate automated sequences. Wire controls end-to-end: relays, PLCs, I/O modules, VFDs, and instrumentation loops. Hunt down failures in transformers, motors, drives, and lighting; replace compromised wires/cables. Team up with maintenance peers to test equipment and pinpoint root causes. Swap out bad devices—relays, switches, motors, position sensors—and bring systems back online. Service electronics at the board level, including printed circuit boards. Rewire motors and replace bearings to restore performance. Lay out electrical infrastructure within facilities and install associated apparatus. Resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues affecting uptime. Pitch in on other tasks aligned with maintenance goals. Must‑haves Associate’s degree in electrical engineering (or related) or equivalent experience; Bachelor’s/technical school preferred. 3–5 years in manufacturing maintenance covering mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-based equipment. 3+ years designing, developing, and sustaining control systems. Comfort troubleshooting legacy/older machinery. Technical toolkit PLC programming proficiency (ladder logic plus additional languages). CMMS or maintenance planning platforms; expert blueprint/schematic reading. Electrical fundamentals: single/three phase AC & DC, 240V high-leg, wire color codes, test instruments. Industrial networking familiarity: Ethernet, DeviceNet. How you work Structured problem-solver who gathers data, establishes facts, and reaches sound conclusions. Project-minded: deliver work on time and within budget. Cost-aware with practical, savings-oriented maintenance solutions. Safety-forward: follow procedures, flag hazards, and use tools/materials correctly. Comfort interpreting technical instructions (math/diagrams) and juggling abstract and concrete variables.
