Job Description

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Repair Technician in Gilbert, Arizona for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform depot-level repair, modification, refurbishment, troubleshooting, and acceptance testing of complex electro-mechanical defense hardware. The technician will work across mechanical, electrical, structural, and hydraulic subsystems while using automated and general-purpose test equipment to diagnose and repair components. The requisition specifically identifies the worksite as Gilbert, Arizona.

Required Skills

  • Associate degree in a related discipline, or 5–8 years of relevant technical experience.
  • 3–5 years of soldering experience supporting cable and harness repair.
  • J-STD-001 soldering certification or equivalent demonstrated soldering capability.
  • 3–5 years of experience troubleshooting and performing fault isolation on electronic or electro-mechanical components.
  • 3–5 years of experience operating general-purpose and/or automated test equipment.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, network analyzers, waveform generators, or similar diagnostic equipment.
  • 3–5 years of experience working with industrial standards, military specifications, and established technical processes.
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings, schematics, technical procedures, and repair instructions.
  • Ability to properly safety-wire assemblies and connectors.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment to verify engineering tolerances.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials and chemicals and properly use required PPE.
  • Ability to mix and weigh chemicals.
  • Safety shoes are required.

Preferred Skills

  • J-STD-001 certification with 3+ years of experience.
  • IPC-7711/IPC-7721 certification or related electronic rework and repair experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform depot-level repairs, modifications, and refurbishment of electro-mechanical defense components and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and isolate faults in mechanical, electrical, structural, and hydraulic subsystems.
  • Perform acceptance testing following repair or rework.
  • Operate automated and general-purpose electronic test equipment.
  • Repair cables, harnesses, assemblies, and connectors.
  • Set up and operate conventional milling machines and drill presses for component rework or repair.
  • Use precision measuring equipment to verify dimensional compliance.
  • Complete work in accordance with engineering drawings, schematics, technical procedures, and repair documentation.
  • Document completed work in automated maintenance data-collection systems.
  • Provide technical feedback to support reliability and process improvements.
  • Handle hazardous materials in accordance with established safety requirements.

Pay

  • $35.10 per hour.
