To support progress across our industry, we provide state‑of‑the‑art components and vertically integrated infrastructure for others to build on via Science Foundry.We are seeking an outstanding electromechanical technician with a passion for solving some of neuroscience's hardest problems and most serious unmet medical needs. You must be motivated, curious, and consider unconventional solutions. Work is highly collaborative and cross‑functional. It includes electrical manufacturing, making fully compliant medical devices with safety of the patient in mind. We also seek a technical person to work on electronics assembly and test, tools and fixtures operation and assembly for biological, mechanical and electronics teams. At this early stage, speed is paramount, so you must pivot, approach challenges from multiple directions simultaneously, move quickly without losing important details, and know when to modulate for high precision tasks. All challenges are highly collaborative.Role responsibilitiesPerform assembly, rework, and programming of PCBs and electronic boardsManufacture and assemble electromechanical systems, including wiring and interconnectsWork closely with the engineers to conduct device functional testing and support root‑cause investigation of non‑functional unitsWork within and respect ESD and laser safety controlled environmentsProvide support to the quality team for receiving inspections of all types of electronic componentsFollow assembly SOPs and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and rework instructionsEnsure verification/maintenance of electronic equipment used on the production line in collaboration with the quality teamSupport rapid prototyping and component 3D printingOperate and maintain machine shop and electrical tools, including PCBA assembly equipmentExperience with 3D printing in a professional settingMicro fabrication or microelectronics exposureProficient at soldering and reworking through‑hole and surface‑mount components on PCBsAbility to follow assembly SOPs and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and rework instructionsPreferred qualifications3+ years of relevant technician experienceExperience with oscilloscopes, DMMs, and other lab instrumentsExperience programming and maintaining PCBA assembly or manufacturing equipmentMicrocontrollers and basic board layoutGD&T experienceExperience working with surgical or biological requirementsScience is required under California law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. We determine your level based on your interview performance and make an offer based on the indicated salary band. The base salary range for this full‑time position is $35 - $55 per hour + equity + benefits. Within the range, individual pay is determined by several factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
