Ready to tackle complex maintenance in a 24/7 aluminum casting plant?

Howmet Aerospace’s Barberton Aluminum Remelt Foundry (Barberton, OH) is seeking a full-time Night Crew (7PM–7AM) technician to keep our highly automated, continuous horizontal casting lines safe, stable, and productive.

What you’ll do

  • Troubleshoot and repair continuous process equipment: motors, conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, water systems, and related production machinery using diagrams, specs, and OEM manuals.
  • Safely disassemble and reassemble equipment using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools to replace failed components.
  • Perform targeted maintenance: pumps, motors, chains, sprockets, cables; repair/replace drives; diagnose PLC logic; fabricate/mount guards; adjust hydraulic systems.
  • Lead with safety — maintain PPE and uphold BCC Safety Regulations.
  • Execute PMs and capture work in the CMMS; contribute to reliability improvement projects.

Our cast house contains an aluminum smelter and casting lines recognized among the safest in the world. The operation relies on skilled people and modern automation to run continuously, 24/7/365.

Qualifications to succeed

Basic

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • 2+ years of mechanical or electrical maintenance in manufacturing
  • Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics

Preferred

  • Combustion systems experience
  • Demonstrated safety leadership
  • Advanced troubleshooting ability
  • Depth in mechanical and electrical repair methods
  • Preventive maintenance background
  • 5 years performing mechanical and electrical maintenance in a manufacturing environment or foundry

Pay, schedule, and extras

  • Shift: Night Crew, 7PM–7AM (12-hour crewing); full-time with occasional weekend overtime
  • Starting rate: $36.23/hour+ DOE; typical range $36.23–$43.83/hr
  • Night differential: additional $1.00/hr
  • Performance pay based on company results
