Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Schedule: 5:45 PM – 6:15 AM | 12-hour continental shift (3 days one week, 4 days the following, off every other weekend; overtime may be required)
Shift Differential: +$2.00/hour shift differential depending on experience
Employment Type: Full-Time

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to support maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Follow all plant safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and safe equipment operation
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including PLCs, motors, contactors, and relays
• Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters to test and verify system functionality
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment
• Maintain and repair equipment such as chillers, pumps, compressors, and related systems
• Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement effective solutions
• Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and repairs in CMMS systems
• Assist in maintaining spare parts inventory and organization
• Operate shop equipment such as band saws, mills, and lathes as needed
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance best practices
• Maintain safe working conditions and use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial manufacturing or military maintenance environments required
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment
• Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and industrial motor controls
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Experience with extrusion, printing, lamination, slitting, or related equipment preferred
• Ability to operate a forklift (or willingness to be trained)
• Comfortable working in physically demanding environments (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, etc.)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
