PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician in Maple Grove, MN for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will support a pilot production line performing assembly and test of complex electro-mechanical assemblies, electronic products, and support equipment. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, electronic test equipment experience, the ability to work from engineering drawings and instructions, and hands-on support for transitioning new products into production.

Required Skills

  • 2-year technical degree or minimum 2 years of related technician experience in a production or prototype environment.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment, electrical assembly tools, and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and sketches.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions.
  • Precision and fine motor skills for micro/nano-scale fabrication, assembly, and test work with near-zero defects.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • J-STD-001 experience or knowledge of J-STD-001 requirements.
  • Ability to conduct tests using electronic test equipment such as scopes and meters.
  • Ability to generate test report data.
  • Ability to use mechanical assembly and measurement tools, including micrometers and torque wrenches.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment and follow safety policies.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work additional hours when required, including weekends.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required to obtain Secret clearance.

Preferred Skills

  • 2-year technical degree and 2 years of related technician experience in a production or prototype environment.
  • Ability to provide feedback supporting design, fabrication, and test improvements.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues.
  • Cirris and/or automated test equipment operator experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic or electrical systems.
  • Training or proficiency in IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 and J-STD-001 manufacturing and quality requirements.
  • Understanding of basic machining techniques.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly, electronic assembly, ordnance systems, pilot production, prototype production, production test, continuous improvement, and new product transition.

What You'll Do

  • Perform assembly and test of complex electro-mechanical assemblies, electronic products, and support equipment.
  • Support pilot production line activities.
  • Perform repetitive and non-repetitive assembly operations on electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Work from engineering drawings, sketches, and work instructions.
  • Use electronic test equipment, electrical assembly tools, hand tools, and measurement tools.
  • Conduct tests and document test results.
  • Assist team members with troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Help identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support transition of new products into production.
  • Maintain safety and quality standards throughout production work.
  • Participate in a skills evaluation during the interview if requested.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • 9/80 schedule.
  • Overtime expected as needed, including weekends when required.

Pay

  • $31.61/hour
