Introduction
Visium Resources has been asked to identify qualified candidates for this Electro-Mechanical Technician position. This position is a contract opportunity which is expected to be on-site in Orlando, FL.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, or 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM during overtime. This includes a 30-minute lunch break and two 10-minute breaks during the shift.
Summary:
As an Electro-Mechanical Assembler, you will play a critical part in the production of advanced inspection systems by assembling complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and cable harness sub-systems to exact specifications that meet rigorous industry standards.
Your core responsibilities will be:
Technical Operations:
- Assemble components using hand and power tools per engineering drawings and work instructions
- Conduct functional and diagnostic testing using shop test equipment
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on assemblies and equipment
- Perform soldering operations to IPC and RoHS standards
- Handle components using ESD protocols and procedures
- Execute first article builds and support Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
- Perform assembly and repair tasks on both new and refurbished equipment
Production Standards & Performance:
- Meet defined takt times and assembly throughput targets
- Maintain adherence to quality control standards during all phases of assembly
- Work overtime as scheduled to meet production deadlines
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance per shift requirements
Documentation and Compliance:
- Accurately complete work order documentation and quality forms
- Follow all applicable industry standards, safety protocols, and internal procedures
Qualified candidates would have the following:
Required Experience and Education:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience assembling mechanical products, equipment, machinery, or components in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to read and follow assembly instructions, diagrams, blueprints, or technical drawings.
- Experience using common hand tools and power tools.
- Basic understanding of nuts, bolts, screws, fasteners, and other hardware used in assembly.
- Experience working with small wires, including cutting, stripping, connecting, and routing wires.
- Experience using soldering equipment to connect small electrical wires and components.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and identify assembly issues.
- Experience completing production paperwork and quality documentation accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
- Ability to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and stand or sit for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Three or more years of manufacturing, assembly, production, or equipment repair experience.
- Experience assembling machines, industrial equipment, automated equipment, or electromechanical products.
- Experience repairing, rebuilding, or refurbishing equipment.
- Experience performing basic testing of assembled products to verify functionality.
- Background in electronics assembly, wiring, cable assembly, or electrical component installation.
- Military technical experience related to equipment maintenance, repair, or assembly.
- Trade school, vocational training, or technical certification related to manufacturing, mechanical assembly, electronics, or industrial maintenance.
Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Military, trade school or equivalent experience is preferred
Work Authorizations / Security Clearance / Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Post Offer Background check and drug screening required
