Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
As an Electromagnetics & High Frequency Power Electronics Engineer for General Dynamics Mission Systems, youll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for developing smaller, more efficient high voltage power supplies as part of our subsea communication systems.
We encourage you to apply if you have any of these preferred skills or experiences: Custom magnetics design, resonant converter topologies (LLC, SRC), FEA simulation (ANSYS Maxwell, COMSOL), HV isolation design, EMI/EMC.
Also nice to have are the following: Defense/aerospace background, experience with wide bandgap devices (SiC, GaN), hands-on magnetics characterization experience
What sets you apart:
High Frequency Magnetics Design
Resonant Circuit Design (LC Tank Circuits)
Design and optimize LC tank circuits for resonant power conversion
Understand the interaction between the transformer and the resonant network these cannot be designed in isolation at high frequencies
Tune resonant designs for zero voltage switching (ZVS) and zero current switching (ZCS) to minimize switching losses and maximize efficiency
Analyze and manage frequency-dependent behavior across load and input voltage ranges
Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation

Combined Salary Range
USD $142,696.00 - USD $158,303.00 /Yr.
