PGS Worldwide is seeking an Assembler in Owego, NY for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This 2nd shift role performs production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables. You will work from diagrams and drawings, use hand and power tools, perform continuity checks, and support rework and prototype builds as needed.
Required Skills
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience
- Soldering experience
- Mechanical build experience
- Bonding experience
- Wiring experience
- Ability to work from diagrams and drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools
- Ability to perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
What You'll Do - Perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies (modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, cables)
- Work from diagrams and drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools
- Perform continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies
- Conduct quality inspections on the processing line in accordance with quality specifications as needed
- Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions
Work Schedule / Shift - 2nd shift: 3:30pm - 1:30am (M-Th)
