The Electromechanical Assembly Technician is responsible for the mechanical and electrical assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of Isotec Security's manufactured security systems. This position works from drawings, schematics, and assembly procedures to build and test mechanical assemblies, wiring harnesses, sensors, controls, and other electrical components. Isotec Security is looking for an Electromechanical Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing team in Westminster, Colorado.

\n

\n

We're looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, comfortable working with electrical components and wiring, and takes pride in building things correctly. You don't need to be an engineer, but you should understand how mechanical and electrical components work together and be comfortable troubleshooting when something doesn't work as expected.

\n

This is not a repetitive production-line position. Our systems involve a mix of mechanical assemblies, wiring, sensors, controls, fabricated components, and electronics. The work can change from project to project, and we cross-train our team to work in multiple areas of production.

\n

\n

Essential Responsibilities

This position’s tasks look different day to day, but the general responsibilities will roughly break into:

\n
  • \n
  • Assemble mechanical and electronics products according to drawings, schematics, procedures, diagrams, and specifications
  • \n
  • Coordinate effectively with the Team to complete projects in a timely manner.
  • \n
  • Wire electrical components, switches, sensors, relays, controls, and other low-voltage devices
  • \n
  • Build and route wiring harnesses and perform basic crimping, terminating, and occasional soldering
  • \n
  • Read and work from mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics
  • \n
  • Use multimeters and other basic test equipment to verify electrical operation and assist with troubleshooting
  • \n
  • Perform functional, safety, and quality checks on completed assemblies
  • \n
  • Use hand and power tools including drills, drivers, tapping tools, saws, and other production equipment
  • \n
  • Measure, cut, drill, tap, fit, and assemble mechanical components
  • \n
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical assembly issues and communicate problems to Production and Engineering
  • \n
  • Contribute to documenting and improving processes and procedures
  • \n
  • Assist with final product testing and preparation for shipment
  • \n
  • Tear down, package, crate, and prepare completed systems for shipping
  • \n
  • Participate in process improvements and help identify better ways to assemble and test our products
  • \n
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • \n
  • Assist in other duties as needed. We believe strongly in cross-training and expect our team members to be willing to learn new skills.
