As a full-time Electromechanical Reliability Mechanic in our Springfield, MO plant, you’ll report to the Maintenance Manager and spend your shift safeguarding equipment health, minimizing downtime, and coaching teammates.
A day in this role
You arrive for a 12-hour shift, walk the floor, and scan dashboards in the CMMS. A filler needs an adjustment, a conveyor is due for preventive maintenance, and a packaging cell shows intermittent electrical faults. You:
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and intermediate electrical issues, including basic PLC/Ladder Logic/HMI interactions.
- Execute planned and unplanned maintenance on production and facility systems; perform basic-to-major equipment rebuilds and precision adjustments.
- Lead root-cause failure analyses, recommend fixes, and implement permanent countermeasures.
- Interpret schematics, blueprints, and OEM manuals to resolve issues efficiently.
- Model safe work practices and GMP compliance; immediately escalate any food safety concern to site leadership.
- Serve on the emergency brigade for fires, searches, and/or evacuations as needed.
- Coach Production Technicians and junior Maintenance Technicians to build troubleshooting capability.
- Pitch in with all other duties as assigned to support production goals.
Schedule, pay, and work patterns
- Current hiring needs: C Shift — Sunday–Tuesday 7PM–7AM; Wednesday 7PM–1AM; or D Shift — Thursday 1AM–7AM; Thursday–Saturday 7PM–7AM.
- Shift differential: $1.50.
- Shifts may change over your career based on business needs; you must be available to work any shift.
- Rotating 12-hour schedule; hours may vary.
- Overtime may be required daily and on weekends, sometimes with minimal notice.
What you’ll need
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Clear written and verbal communication across departments; strong teamwork.
- Hands-on capability across mechanics and basic electricity: breakdown analysis, equipment rebuilds, troubleshooting, advanced adjustments, fabrication, and maintenance on production and facility assets.
- Ownership mindset, accountability, adaptability, and a continuous-improvement approach with leadership presence.
- Methodical problem-solving across diverse equipment and support systems.
- Physical demands: lift up to 10 lbs up to 70% of the time and up to 50 lbs as needed; work in non-weather heat up to 50% of the time.
- Mobility: navigate around equipment; climb stairs and ladders; work at heights up to 45 ft on material handling equipment.
- Ability to become a certified forklift operator.
- Knowledge of CMMS and Microsoft Office; familiarity with planned maintenance practices.
- PAPR/Respirator may be required.
Preferred
- Technical degree or certificate in industrial maintenance.
- Basic PLC, Ladder Logic, and HMI experience.
