See your work make a difference

At Alcon, every fix, tune, and improvement helps people see brilliantly. In Johns Creek, GA, you’ll join a world leader in eye care, working onsite to keep advanced manufacturing lines operating at their best. As an Electromechanical technician on our team, you’ll blend mechanical know‑how with electrical savvy to minimize downtime, boost yield, and elevate quality—while growing your own career.

A day in the life

You’ll move from machine to machine, diagnosing issues across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems. You’ll partner closely with production teammates, jump into the parts repair shop to rebuild components to “as‑built” condition (driving annual cost avoidance), and contribute to system improvements across Preventive, Corrective, Predictive, and Spare Parts programs. You’ll also support equipment retrofits and upgrades, help draft or revise SOPs and shop repair instructions, and participate in validation protocols. Your goal: balanced gains in product quality, output, yield, and cost.

Core responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive/corrective maintenance on production equipment across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and controls.
  • Support teammates and production personnel with complex technical problems.
  • Rebuild and restore used parts to “as‑built” condition in the parts repair shop to contribute to annual cost avoidance.
  • Continuously improve maintenance systems (Preventive, Corrective, Predictive, and Spare Parts).
  • Assist with equipment retrofits and upgrades; write or revise SOPs and shop repair instructions.
  • Optimize equipment and processes to enhance quality, output, yield, and cost efficiency.
  • Assist in completing validation protocols.

What you’ll bring

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Work hours: 36–48 hours/week; 6:30 PM EST – 6:30 AM EST (12‑hour rotating night shift: 2 nights on, 2 nights off, and every other weekend).
  • Location: Onsite (Johns Creek, GA).
  • Travel Requirements: 0%.
  • Sponsorship & Relocation: Not Available.

Preferred qualifications

  • Direct machine maintenance background.
  • Hands‑on experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.
  • Related technical school certification or equivalent training/experience (e.g., manufacturing technology, electrical engineering).

How you’ll thrive here

  • Collaborate with teammates, share standard processes, and learn as work evolves.
  • Grow with focused development opportunities and see your career like never before.
  • Advance Alcon’s mission: deliver innovative products and solutions that improve sight and lives.
  • Benefits include health, life, retirement, flexible time off for exempt associates, PTO for hourly associates, and more.
