Description

Join Prysmian Group as an Electromechanical Reliability Technician

Prysmian is the global leader in energy and digital connectivity. With 9,000 colleagues in North America and 35,000 worldwide, we power cities, connect communities, and enable industries through resilient, innovative cable systems—from underground and submarine transmission to optical fibers that carry voice, video, and data across the globe.

Role Overview — Claremont Fiber Plant

Title: Electromechanical Reliability Technician (internally aligned with the Fiber Plant TSA technician role)

Reports to: Claremont Fiber Maintenance Manager

Compensation: $28–$34 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 2-2-3 rotating pattern (EOWEO)

A Day in the Life

You arrive on shift to a brief handoff, then scan SAP notifications and maintenance logs before prioritizing work. Early in the day, you’re inspecting motor control centers and verifying interlocks on an automatic machine. A call comes in—production has a nuisance trip on a PLC-controlled line. You grab your meter and scope, review the electrical schematic, trace a logic chain, and isolate a faulty sensor in the control circuit. With the line back up, you document the fix and add a preventive task to the plan.

Later, you support a scheduled PM: conduit runs for a new HMI panel, checks on pneumatics, a hydraulic hose swap, and verification of lockout/tagout steps. You consult with the Maintenance Lead Person on parts strategy, log inventory use, and note any critical spares to reorder. When needed, you step in as a Medical First Responder. Throughout the shift, you champion safe work practices and coach teammates on equipment safety and reliability. Before you leave, you update your activity report and contribute to our pay-for-skill program milestones.

  • Participate in the site’s preventive maintenance program
  • Adhere to safe work practices and company policies at all times
  • Support optimum inventory levels of critical components
  • Serve as a Medical First Responder in the Fiber Plant
