PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronic Assembler in Austin, TX for a temporary contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Electronic Assembler will support onsite production assembly of advanced electronic and electromechanical assemblies. This 2nd shift role requires hand soldering experience, rework experience, mechanical assembly or tack bonding experience, the ability to read drawings and work instructions, and comfort working in a clean room production environment.

Required Skills

  • High school or trade school education.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Hand soldering experience required.
  • Rework experience.
  • Mechanical assembly and/or tack bonding/epoxy experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, schematics, blueprints, process plans, and drawings.
  • Ability to assemble parts for electromechanical equipment.
  • Ability to manually solder or epoxy electrical components.
  • Ability to inspect parts and materials for flaws and imperfections before use.
  • Ability to assemble, disassemble, and modify production subassemblies by following work plans.
  • Ability to inspect completed work for conformance.
  • Ability to become solder certified.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Microsoft Office familiarity, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, teamwork, and work ethic.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Austin, TX.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift on a 4/10 schedule.

Preferred Skills

  • IPC Class 3 soldering, connector installation, and epoxy application experience.
  • J-STD modules 1, 3, and 6 completed.
  • IPC-A-610 certification.
  • J-STD-001 certification.
  • Selective solder experience.
  • High-volume wave soldering experience.
  • AOI and AXI/X-ray inspection experience.
  • IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 inspection experience.
  • Experience using fixturing to accurately build assemblies.
  • Experience using solder reflow ovens, semi-automatic pick-and-place machines, or automated measurement systems.
  • MRP or data collection software experience.
  • Clean room experience.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing production environments.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble electronic and electromechanical production hardware.
  • Perform hand soldering, connector installation, rework, and epoxy/tack bonding.
  • Read and follow work instructions, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and process plans.
  • Assemble, disassemble, and modify production subassemblies.
  • Inspect parts, materials, and completed assemblies for conformance.
  • Use fixturing, soldering tools, reflow ovens, semi-automatic pick-and-place equipment, and automated measurement systems as applicable.
  • Support production accuracy, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Work independently and as part of a production team.
  • Maintain quality standards in a clean room manufacturing environment.

Work Schedule / Shift

  • 2nd shift.
  • Monday Thursday, 4/10 schedule.
  • Typical hours are 4:30 PM 3:00 AM.
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Overtime expected as needed.
  • 100% onsite role.
  • No travel required.

Pay

  • $24.19/hour base pay for candidates without industry experience.
  • $27.00/hour base pay for candidates with industry experience.
  • Shift differential may apply.
