Electronic Assembler

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronic Assembler in Austin, Texas for an approximately five-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform detailed electronic, electrical, and mechanical assembly of production and prototype hardware. The assembler will work from engineering drawings, schematics, wiring lists, and process instructions while performing soldering, wiring, harness installation, inspection, and precision assembly operations.

Required Skills

• High school diploma, GED, or trade school education with 2+ years of related experience.
• Experience assembling small electronic or electromechanical devices.
• Hands-on wiring, soldering, cable, and wire-harness assembly experience.
• Experience working with a microscope.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, blueprints, specifications, and assembly instructions.
• Working knowledge of electronic components including resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, relays, and transformers.
• Experience performing mechanical assembly operations.
• Ability to use crimping tools and other electronic assembly tooling.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precision work.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required solder, ESD, and material-handling certifications.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a production team.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Ability to work the required 2nd-shift schedule.

Preferred Skills

• 1 3 years of electronic assembler experience.
• Electronic and mechanical assembly experience in an aerospace, defense, or similar manufacturing environment.
• Advanced soldering and electrical/electronic assembly experience.
• Experience performing assembly work to J-STD and IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.

What You'll Do

• Assemble electronic components, circuit boards, modules, connector panels, subassemblies, and other production hardware.
• Perform wire termination, cable and harness installation, crimping, soldering, and mechanical assembly.
• Work from drawings, schematics, wiring lists, visual aids, routing instructions, and process sheets.
• Assemble, disassemble, and modify production and prototype subassemblies.
• Perform precision torqueing and other detailed assembly operations.
• Inspect completed work for conformance with applicable specifications and workmanship standards.
• Use hand tools, precision testing equipment, and microscopes to support assembly and inspection activities.
• Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and production personnel to resolve technical and quality issues.
• Support production and prototype builds while maintaining high standards for accuracy and workmanship.

Work Schedule / Shift

• 2nd shift, Monday Thursday.
• Four 10-hour shifts per week.
• 4:30 PM 3:00 AM.
• Overtime may be required.

Pay

• $28.10 per hour base pay for candidates with industry experience.
• $25.29 per hour base pay for candidates without industry experience.
