The Panther Group is seeking an Electronic Assembler II for a long-term opportunity with a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing company in Clearwater, FL. This is a hands-on production role supporting assembly, soldering, inspection, testing, and rework of electronic and electromechanical products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

We are looking for candidates with strong soldering skills, attention to detail, and experience working with PCBs, small mechanical assemblies, and precision electronic components.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies including:
    • circuit boards
    • modules
    • cables
    • panels
    • frames
    • electromechanical products
  • Perform SMT and/or PTH soldering on printed circuit boards (PCBs)
  • Complete solder touch-up, rework, wiring, routing, cleaning, and modifications to assemblies
  • Install electronic components onto circuit boards using hand tools and assembly equipment
  • Perform continuity checks, inspections, and testing of assemblies
  • Read and interpret:
    • blueprints
    • bills of materials (BOMs)
    • assembly drawings
    • work instructions
  • Operate manufacturing equipment including:
    • wave solder machines
    • pinning machines
    • solder fountains
    • testing equipment
  • Support conformal coating, module cleaning, potting, and testing processes
  • Assemble small mechanical components including springs, gears, and precision subassemblies
  • Conduct self-inspections to ensure quality standards are met before moving product to the next operation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
  • Participate in team meetings and support continuous process improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of manufacturing, production, or electronics assembly experience
  • Minimum 2–3 years of soldering experience required
  • Strong hand soldering experience with:
    • through-hole components
    • surface mount components
  • Experience working with PCBs and electromechanical assemblies
  • Ability to read blueprints, assembly drawings, and manufacturing instructions
  • Comfortable using hand tools, microscopes, testing equipment, and computers
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work with very small mechanical and electronic assemblies
  • Good eyesight and color vision required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or previous IPC-610 certification
  • Experience within aerospace, defense, OEM, or EMS manufacturing environments
  • Experience with military standards and ISO 9000 environments
  • Prototype or high-reliability electronics assembly experience
Pay $18-$30 per hour DOE
