    Contract-to-Hire
    Pay Rate: DoE

    Schedule: Monday - Friday
    1st shift - 6:30 am - 2:30 pm

    Summary: The assembler position is responsible for using skill, knowledge, along with hands and company machinery/tools to assemble products.  The level of the assembler is based upon years of related experience and the ability to perform different tasks efficiently and with a high level of quality.     
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  
     
    Assembler Level I:
    • Reads work orders, follows work instructions, assembly drawings, bills of materials and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
    • Verifies part quantities in each kit, including kits that have been worked partially by another assembler. Obtains bin stock to complete kit.
    • Obtains and utilizes proper fixtures and hand tools to align parts in specified assemblies.
    • May need to crimp, screw, bolt, rivet, solder, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
    • May need to connect component lead wires to PCB assemblies.
    • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
    • Assembles and attaches hardware to assemblies.
    • Performs assembly tasks, such as sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding and curing parts and assemblies.
    • Perform routine maintenance on equipment as required.
    • Adjusts or trims materials from parts to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
    • Obtains proper test equipment in order to perform inline testing to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.
    • Works at different workstations and on different assemblies as production needs require.
    • May need to solder Surface Mount components using microscope or other aids per industry standard practice.
    • Repairs defective or non-conforming assemblies and/or components as directed by Supervisor/Quality Team.
    • May need to operate company-specific machinery and tools.
    • Performs other duties as requested by Lead or Supervisor.
     
    Assembler Level II: 
    • Performs Assembler I Level duties.
    • Works with engineering on new product.
    • Can work in 2 or more areas of the factory.
     
    Assembler Level III:
    • Performs Assembler Level I and II duties.
    • Develops an area of expertise such as fine pitch soldering, delicate machine assembly, or building sensitive optical assemblies.
    • Can work in 3 or more areas of the factory.
     
    Qualifications:

     Assembler I:
     1 month to 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
     Assembler II:
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Assembler III:
    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to eight years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
     
    Essential Job Requirements:
    • Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
