Job Description

We are seeking an Electronic Assembler with soldering experience to work onsite at our Baltimore office as a core member of our Operations team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and troubleshooting methodologies. The Electronic Assembler will engage across core performance teams at Alertus to ensure all hardware is produced, validated, and shipped to meet customer requirements efficiently and cost-effectively.

This is an office based role and requires reporting to our HQ in Baltimore daily.

A Day in the Life:

• Prepare and hand-solder all levels of electronic components as part of our electronics manufacturing Production team
• Read and interpret engineering blueprints for a wide variety of devices and components
• Rework, repair, and modify printed circuit boards and/or assemblies to required specifications
• Produce and ship all Alertus hardware
• Manage and maintain bench stock to ensure timely flow of the production queue
• Troubleshoot and repair broken equipment
• Use general power tools to produce Alertus equipment
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Required Skills & Abilities:

• Proven experience with hand-soldering electronic components
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications
• Hands-on proficiency in operating general power tools, hand tools, and electronic diagnostic equipment (e.g., multimeters)
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills across departments (Sales, Implementation, Production)
• Ability to lift at least 40 lbs and work onsite in a manufacturing/assembly environment

Desired Skills:

• IPC-A-610 soldering certification and/or IPC-WHMA-620 cable & wire assembly certification
• Familiarity with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing processes and defect identification
• Knowledge of ESD/static dissipative protocols and controlled-torque tools
• Experience in an ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or AS9100 quality environment

Education & Experience:

• Associate's degree or trade school certification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
• 2-3+ years of experience in electronics assembly, hand-soldering, and PCB repair.

$19.14 - $28.19 an hour

The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of Alertus' salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will depend on several factors, which may include the successful candidate''s geographic location, skills, work experience, market conditions, education/training and other qualifications.
