We are seeking a highly motivated Aircraft Electronic Software and Hardware Engineering Specialist to join our Electronic Equipment Design Assurance (EEDA) team at our facility in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada.
Summary of Job Description
Participate in preliminary and critical system design reviews. Prepare or contribute to program software and electronic hardware certification plans. Evaluate suppliers software and electronic (FPGA, ASIC, PLD) designs. Conduct technical and process audits. Perform safety of flight reviews. Assess software and electronic hardware life cycle data to ensure compliance to standards. Lead the resolution of safety, compliance, or technical deficiencies with suppliers and other program stakeholders. Prepare and/or review design compliance reports. Contribute to the evolution of EEDA best practices.
Minimum Required Qualifications
University engineering degree in Avionics, Electronics, Software, or equivalent. Minimum of 8 years of technical engineering experience, including at least 5 years in aeronautics. Minimum of 5 years of experience in airborne software and electronic hardware: • Working knowledge of airborne software and electronic hardware guidance and Means of Compliance, including ARP-4754A/B, RTCA DO-178B, DO-178C and supplements, DO-248B/C, DO-254, DO-297 (IMA), DO-326A/DO-356A/DO-355 (Cuber security), DO-330, DO-200A, FAA AC 20-115D, AC 20-152A, Order 8110.49A, and 8110.105A. • Functional knowledge of English is required for this position. • Multiple programming languages (C, C++, Ada95, Assembly, Python, etc.) and Multiple hardware description languages. • Development and testing (FPGA, ASIC, or PLD). • Knowledge of requirements capture environments (DOORS, JAMA, etc.). • Understanding of embedded computer architectures, operating systems, and real-time executives. • Eligible for a P. Eng. or equivalent. • Ambitious, results-driven, and able to work autonomously with little supervision. • Organized, detail-oriented, a team player, self-motivated, customer-focused, and able to work under pressure. • Proactive, adaptable, flexible, and innovative with a strong sense of accountability and integrity. • Experience with airworthiness authorities or their authorized engineers is an asset.
