The focus of this position will be on conformal coating and other production assembly operations downstream of the SMT PCB population process. This includes process definition and setup for new product introduction and current product support. Subject matter expert in conformal coating of electronic assemblies. Work closely with design engineering, test engineering, production and quality department personnel to ensure successful, timely product launches and conformance to specifications. Coordination and tracking of multiple projects is key to success.Essential FunctionsParticipate and contribute to DFM/DFA meetings with design engineering to optimize designs of electronic assemblies for manufacturabilityProvide technical support for conformal coating and electronic assembly operations downstream of PCB populationDefine processes for new product and process improvements for current product in accordance with IPC industry standardsReview and approve engineering drawingsInvestigate and solve quality problemsCreate and revise documentation including process flow, PFMEA, control plans, detailed operator work instructions, etc.Document, track and report out on project statusTrain production trainers on new products and processesCoordinate with purchasing, production and quality personnel to accomplish design validation builds, process validation builds and start of productionFacilitate production equipment selection, financial justification and implementationRequired QualificationsMust be able to read and interpret engineering drawingsFirsthand experience in conformal coating of electronic assemblies is strongly preferredMust understand manufacturing processes commonly used in the manufacture of electronic assembliesMust have a personal knowledge of IPC standards and their application to electronics manufacturingThe ability to read and interpret electronic schematic diagrams is a plusAn understanding of electrical theory and common electronic components and their functions is a plusMastery of L.S.S. and/or lean manufacturing principles and tools is a plusProficient user of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.)Must have excellent, fluent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishEducation and Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree in engineering or related technical/scientific field required5+ years of electrical/electronic manufacturing engineering experience in a manufacturing facility with firsthand responsibility for new product introduction of electronic assembliesExperience in creation of documentation required for new product launch including Work Instructions, Process Flow, PFMEA, control plans, etc.Experience working in a collaborative team environmentExperience working in an ISO 9001 (or other related quality standard) compliant organization is strongly preferredLSS Green Belt certification is a plusWorking ConditionsThis work requires routine walking and standing.Total pay range base: 72,000 - 115,300 USD AnnualThe actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job‑related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
