\n

Position Summary

\n

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Technician to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on position is responsible for the assembly, testing, calibration, 

\n

troubleshooting, repair, and modification of precision electro-mechanical and electronic instruments. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver with 

\n

extensive experience in electronics, prototype development, and precision assembly who can work independently with minimal engineering direction.

\n


\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

•       Assemble, adjust, calibrate, and test precision encoder and electro-optical instruments. 

\n

•       Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic, optical, and mechanical issues on production and prototype units. 

\n

•       Perform final adjustments to ensure products meet quality, performance, and accuracy standards. 

\n

•       Build prototype units from sketches, verbal instructions, and engineering concepts. 

\n

•       Modify, fabricate, and repair electronic circuits and assemblies for engineering and production applications. 

\n

•       Develop tooling, fixtures, and procedures to support new products and manufacturing improvements. 

\n

•       Build electrical test fixtures for new products with minimal engineering direction. 

\n

•       Coordinate prototype parts, special orders, and vendor-supplied components to ensure timely completion of projects. 

\n

•       Assemble mechanical subassemblies and complete final instrument assembly. 

\n

•       Perform repairs and troubleshooting on customer instruments, including custom prototype equipment with limited documentation. 

\n

•       Use engineering software to document, troubleshoot, and maintain prototype information. 

\n

•       Operate electronic and precision test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, frequency counters, laser interferometers, and other diagnostic instruments. 

\n

•       Source replacement parts and coordinate material needs for production and repair work. 

\n

•       Train and mentor assembly personnel in assembly techniques, alignment, phasing, testing, and troubleshooting. 

\n

•       Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives. 

\n

•       Independently resolve electrical and mechanical problems on both prototype and production units. 

\n

Qualifications

\n

•       Associate degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent technical education preferred. 

\n

•       5+ years of experience in electronics assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration. 

\n

•       Strong knowledge of analog and digital electronics. 

\n

•       Ability to read and interpret schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation. 

\n

•       Experience assembling precision electro-mechanical and electro-optical equipment. 

\n

•       Proficiency using electronic diagnostic and measurement equipment. 

\n

•       Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. 

\n

•       Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

\n

•       Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. 

\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

•       Experience with prototype development and custom instrumentation. 

\n

•       Experience designing or building test fixtures. 

\n

•       Soldering and PCB repair experience. 

\n

•       Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices. 

\n

•       Experience mentoring or training technicians.

\n
