Job Title: Electronics Technician

Job Description

The Electronics Technician supports the testing, troubleshooting, and validation of high-voltage electrical assemblies used in naval and defense applications. This highly hands-on role focuses on diagnosing electrical issues, performing functional tests, and ensuring products meet all specifications before shipment. The technician works closely with assembly and quality teams in a manufacturing environment to help deliver reliable, mission-critical products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and validation of high-voltage electrical assemblies used in naval and defense applications.
  • Use oscilloscopes, digital volt meters (DVMs), multimeters, and other electronic test equipment to perform functional and diagnostic tests.
  • Troubleshoot electrical assemblies and systems to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Conduct high-voltage testing on electrical assemblies and systems while following established safety procedures and standards.
  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics and documentation to support testing and troubleshooting activities.
  • Collaborate closely with assembly and quality teams to verify that products meet specifications and quality requirements before shipment.
  • Apply knowledge of electronic components and electromechanical assemblies during testing and troubleshooting.
  • Support AC power system testing, including systems that incorporate transformers and high-voltage components.
  • Document test results, issues found, and corrective actions taken in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Participate in hands-on training and continuous improvement activities within the manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing or similar hands-on environment.
  • Experience testing electrical assemblies and systems, including high-voltage applications.
  • Proficiency using oscilloscopes, digital volt meters (DVMs), multimeters, and related electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues using test equipment, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with AC power systems, including exposure to transformers or related equipment.
  • Knowledge of electronic components and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and other electrical diagrams.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Eligibility to work on government contractor projects in accordance with applicable requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with high-voltage electrical systems in a production or test environment.
  • Exposure to testing or supporting transformers or AC power systems.
  • Prior experience in a naval, defense, or other mission-critical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and skill development.

Work Environment

This role is fully onsite in a manufacturing environment with a Monday-Friday schedule. Standard hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with two 15-minute breaks and a lunch break each day. The position is highly hands-on, working at a workstation where you can sit or stand as needed while using oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, multimeters, and other electronic test equipment. The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
