PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Assembler in Austin, TX for a 6-month onsite contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Electronics Assembler will build, solder, rework, inspect, and modify electronic and electromechanical assemblies in a cleanroom production environment. This role requires hands-on soldering experience, including work to IPC Class 3 standards, along with experience reading technical drawings and completing accurate, quality-driven production work.
Required Skills
" Two years of high school or trade school education.
" U.S. citizenship required.
" Hand-soldering experience.
" Connector installation experience.
" Mechanical assembly and/or tack-bond epoxy experience.
" Experience working to IPC Class 3 standards.
" Ability to read and interpret work instructions, schematics, blueprints, process plans, and drawings.
" Ability to become solder certified.
" Ability to assemble, disassemble, modify, rework, and inspect production subassemblies.
" Strong attention to detail and production accuracy.
" Ability to inspect completed work for quality and conformance.
" Effective written and verbal communication skills.
" Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
" Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
" Ability to work full-time onsite in a cleanroom environment.
Preferred Skills
" J-STD-001 Modules 1, 3, and 6.
" IPC-A-610 certification.
" J-STD-001 certification.
" Selective soldering experience.
" High-volume wave-soldering experience.
" AOI inspection experience.
" AXI or X-ray inspection experience.
" Experience using solder reflow ovens.
" Experience operating semi-automated pick-and-place equipment.
" Experience using fixtures and automated measurement systems.
" Experience with MRP and production data-collection software.
What You'll Do
" Assemble parts for electronic and electromechanical equipment.
" Perform hand soldering, connector installation, and epoxy application.
" Rework and repair electronic assemblies as required.
" Assemble, disassemble, and modify production subassemblies according to work plans.
" Inspect parts and materials for flaws before use.
" Use fixtures to accurately build assemblies.
" Operate soldering, inspection, and production equipment.
" Inspect completed work for compliance with IPC and quality requirements.
" Record production and quality information accurately.
" Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area.
Work Schedule / Shift
" Monday Thursday, 4:30 PM 3:00 AM.
" 4x10, 2nd-shift schedule.
" Overtime expected.
" No travel required.
Pay
" $29.70 per hour, including shift differential.
