PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Assembler in Wayne, NJ for a 6-month onsite contract role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.
The Electronics Assembler will assemble electronic components, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules using samples, visual aids, prints, wiring lists, diagrams, routing instructions, and process sheets. This role includes mechanical assembly, electronic assembly, wire termination, harness fabrication, component forming, masking, board cleaning, and rework as needed. The position requires electronic assembly experience, soldering experience, and the ability to work to IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 standards.
Required Skills
" High school diploma or GED.
" 6+ months of electronic assembly experience.
" U.S. citizenship required.
" Soldering experience in conformance with IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610.
" Training or certification in IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610.
" Ability to interpret and follow process sheets, prints, route cards, wiring lists, diagrams, routing instructions, and visual aids.
" Ability to use hand tools such as cutters, pliers, preformers, and screwdrivers.
" Ability to identify electronic components and properly orient them into circuit boards according to polarity.
" Ability to use measurement tools such as scales, micrometers, and calipers.
" Ability to achieve required solder certification in various assembly and soldering techniques per company and customer standards.
" Ability to verify work for conformance and perform rework as needed.
Preferred Skills
" Current or ability to obtain clearance.
" Experience with wire harness fabrication.
" Experience with circuit card assembly masking and cleaning.
" Experience with component forming and circuit card kit staging.
What You'll Do
" Assemble electronic components, assemblies, subassemblies, and modules.
" Build electronic assemblies using fasteners, standard tools, and approved manufacturing methods.
" Perform mechanical assembly operations using standard measuring tools and techniques.
" Perform electronic assembly operations, including wire termination and installation of wire harnesses, cable assemblies, relays, transformers, capacitors, resistors, and related components.
" Fabricate wires on jig boards or harness boards according to specifications.
" Route, dress, lace, tie, and terminate conductors according to drawing requirements.
" Pre-stage circuit card kits and form components using machine and hand devices.
" Perform masking operations before wave soldering or coating of circuit card assemblies.
" Clean boards according to Manufacturing Control Specifications.
" Support rework and other production tasks as required.
Work Schedule / Shift
" Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
Pay
" $23.26 per hour
