Job Title: Buying Specialist Location: Milpitas, CA Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (Optional Saturdays 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM) Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
Join our team as a Buying Specialist! You will serve as the welcoming first point of contact for our customers selling pre-owned electronics. This front-of-house role combines excellent customer service, product evaluation, and light negotiation. You will inspect devices, determine their value using our proprietary point-of-sale system, explain offers, and complete purchases in a professional manner.
Note: This is not a repair position. We will provide full training on all of our testing procedures and systems.

You will inspect devices, determine their value using our proprietary point-of-sale system, explain offers, and complete purchases in a professional manner.

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and create a friendly, low-pressure experience.
- Evaluate smartphones, tablets, laptops, gaming consoles, smartwatches, cameras, gaming PCs, and other consumer electronics.
- Perform functional testing and verify cosmetic conditions before determining value.
- Use our POS system to document products and generate purchase offers.
- Explain pricing clearly and confidently while handling customer questions and basic negotiations.
- Complete purchase transactions accurately and prepare inventory for our listing team.
- Promote available products when appropriate, without using aggressive sales techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and inventory.
- Help keep the sales floor organized and assist with light operational duties between customers.
- Follow company procedures related to inventory handling, quality control, and data security.
- General knowledge of consumer electronics and current technology.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable learning new technology and software.
- Ability to inspect electronics with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Professional, dependable, and comfortable working in a small team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience at GameStop, Best Buy, wireless retailers, electronics stores, pawn shops, or similar retail environments.
- Experience buying or selling electronics is a big plus.
- Retail or customer service experience with technology products.
- Cell phone or computer repair experience is helpful, but repair work is not required.
- Approachable: You have a calm, friendly, and welcoming personality.

- Tech-Enthusiast: You have a genuine interest in consumer electronics.
