Our Client designs and builds cutting edge instruments for ground and space-based astronomical and astrophysical research. We currently are seeking an experienced Electronics Designer. The assignment is anticipated to be 6 months in duration with the possibility of extension.
This position may transition to a direct hire at a later date.
Requirements
- Experience using SOLIDWORKS Electrical for electrical system design and documentation
- Strong background in industrial electronics, including hands-on experience with Beckhoff Automation platforms (e.g., PLCs, I/O systems)
- Experience designing and documenting system cabling, wiring diagrams, and harnesses
- Ability to develop and optimize chassis layouts, including component placement and thermal/mechanical considerations
- Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS for mechanical integration and collaboration with mechanical engineering teams
- Solid understanding of electrical standards, safety practices, and manufacturing documentation
Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout would be a plus
