Electronics & Electromechanical Technician

About the Role A global technology company specializing in data storage, digital infrastructure, and advanced electronics is seeking an Electronics & Electromechanical Technician to support its engineering team in Roseville, CA.
This is a highly hands-on role supporting electronics labs, prototype development, testing, equipment installation, and day-to-day lab operations. The ideal candidate will have strong precision soldering and electronics experience, be comfortable working with computer and networking hardware, and be able to work independently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform precision soldering, rework, and repair of fine-pitch surface-mount components on dense PCB assemblies
- Assist engineers with the assembly, fabrication, modification, and troubleshooting of prototypes and test equipment
- Support the setup and execution of engineering tests and regression testing
- Install firmware upgrades on test and laboratory equipment
- Move, install, and configure computer systems, servers, switches, and related hardware
- Perform system and equipment cabling while maintaining organized and efficient lab setups
- Maintain an accurate inventory of lab equipment, tools, components, and supplies
- Track equipment calibration schedules and help ensure equipment remains compliant and ready for use
- Maintain adequate inventory of common lab supplies including solder, wire, ESD equipment, cables, batteries, and related materials
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including equipment handling, documentation, and storage
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe electronics lab environment
- Follow established ESD and laboratory safety procedures
Qualifications- Associate degree required, preferably in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline
- Hands-on experience with electronics assembly, soldering, rework, and PCBAs
- Strong precision soldering skills, including experience with fine-pitch surface-mount components
- Understanding of electronics laboratory equipment and general lab practices
- Experience working with computer hardware, servers, networking equipment, and cabling
- Strong understanding of ESD safety practices
- Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and support multiple engineering activities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry-recognized soldering certification such as CIS certification
- Previous experience supporting an engineering, electronics, semiconductor, hardware development, or product testing laboratory
- Experience with prototype builds, engineering test environments, or hardware troubleshooting
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician who enjoys working directly with electronics and engineering hardware. They should be equally comfortable performing detailed PCB soldering work, assembling prototypes, setting up test equipment, managing lab hardware, and helping keep an engineering lab organized and operational.
