Electronics Hardware Engineer Co-Op

Schneider Electric has a new opportunity for an Electronics Hardware Engineer Co-Op, to join our team in January 2027, based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This individual will be able to gain hands-on experience utilizing knowledge of electronics design and simulation to analyze design solutions and ensure electronics resiliency. They will work to evaluate and test product design solutions in a lab environment, supported and mentored by senior engineers with an abundance of experience.  Duration: 6 months, January 2027-July 2027 What will you do? Assist in the design, develop, test, and validate electronic hardware solutions for power distribution and circuit protection products. As well as support electronic products resiliency with design updates, component substitution and cost optimizations. Modification of schematics, layout and other design documents. Help with prototype builds for testing. Write and implement test plans, including test instructions and acceptance criteria. Interpret test results and other data. Conduct root cause analysis for electronic hardware systems. Participate in design reviews. Present project summaries to internal experts. What qualifications will make you successful?  Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field. Understanding of electronic circuits and circuit design with courses similar to: electronic circuits, circuit analysis, electromagnetism, signal analysis. Ability to discuss a project you have worked on and articulate responsibilities and role. Basic abilities with SPICE tools, PCB design suites and MS365. Interest in electronics lab equipment, oscilloscopes, power supply, signal generators, etc. Experience is a plus. Effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to work full-time based in Cedar Rapids, for 6-months starting January 2026 All applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
