The Panther Group is seeking detail-oriented Electronics Inspectors to support a leading aerospace and defense manufacturing organization in Clearwater, FL.

This position is responsible for inspecting soldered and conformally coated circuit card assemblies to ensure compliance with IPC standards, engineering drawings, and customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing visual inspections of electronic assemblies and a strong understanding of IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform visual inspection of circuit card assemblies, solder connections, and conformal coating applications.
  • Inspect both surface mount (SMT) and through-hole soldered components in accordance with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards.
  • Evaluate assemblies using established accept/reject criteria and quality requirements.
  • Review and interpret:
    • Engineering drawings
    • Inspection instructions
    • Work instructions
    • Parts lists
    • Revision-controlled documents
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment including:
    • Micrometers
    • Dial indicators
    • Scales
    • Other inspection tools
  • Document inspection findings and quality issues accurately.
  • Communicate defects and quality concerns to production and operations teams.
  • Maintain compliance with manufacturing, quality, and safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality objectives.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience inspecting soldered electronic assemblies.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with:
    • IPC-A-610
    • IPC-J-STD-001
  • Ability to navigate IPC standards and determine accept/reject criteria.
  • Experience inspecting:
    • Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assemblies
    • Through-hole assemblies
    • Conformal coating applications
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience using measuring and inspection equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing experience.
  • Prior experience in a quality inspection or electronics inspection role.
  • IPC certification (current or previous).
  • Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments.
