The Panther Group is seeking an experienced Electronics Maintenance Technician to join a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer in Clearwater, FL. This position supports high-volume electronics manufacturing by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving SMT production equipment used in printed circuit board assembly (CCA) operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance technician with a strong background in SMT manufacturing, AOI equipment, and electronics troubleshooting who enjoys solving complex technical problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on SMT manufacturing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, vacuum, optical, and mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose equipment failures and replace defective components or modules.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and production efficiency.
  • Work closely with Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Process Engineering, and Test Engineering teams to resolve equipment issues.
  • Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, technical drawings, manuals, and specifications.
  • Perform equipment setup, calibration, testing, and verification.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, repair documentation, and spare parts inventory.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Support production with immediate response to equipment downtime.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of electronics manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Strong background supporting SMT manufacturing equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Experience using mechanical hand tools and soldering equipment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following equipment:
  • Mycronic Pick-and-Place equipment
  • Universal Instruments Pick-and-Place equipment
  • Koh Young AOI systems
  • YesTech AOI systems
  • SMT Inline Wash systems
  • MPM Screen Printers

Additional preferred qualifications:
  • Associate degree or Technical/Vocational degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field
  • Experience supporting printed circuit board (CCA) manufacturing
  • Familiarity with ESD procedures, PCB handling, First Piece Inspection, and electronic component identification
