Electronics Quality Inspector

PGS Worldwide is seeking an Electronics Quality Inspector in Niagara Falls, NY for a 10-month onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Electronics Quality Inspector will perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and completed electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical assemblies. This role requires experience using microscopes and calibrated inspection equipment, interpreting blueprints and specifications, documenting defects, and determining whether products should be accepted, rejected, or reworked.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent with approximately 5 years of related inspection experience.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience performing in-process, final, or receiving inspection.
• Experience visually inspecting electronic units, subsystems, electromechanical assemblies, or mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, diagrams, specifications, inspection instructions, and checklists.
• Experience using microscopes for detailed visual inspection.
• Familiarity with calibrated measuring and inspection equipment.
• Ability to use dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, and related measuring devices.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 workmanship standards.
• Understanding of electronic assembly processes and equipment calibration.
• Experience identifying and documenting defects.
• Ability to independently evaluate products against quality requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and quality-analysis skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively both independently and with others.

Preferred Skills

• Current IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, or J-STD-001 certification.
• SAP, Solumina, or comparable ERP system experience.
• Production or electronics manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with blueprint tolerances.
• Experience inspecting cable or wire-harness assemblies.
• Statistical process control or other quality-control procedure experience.

What You’ll Do

• Inspect in-process and completed electronic and mechanical products.
• Identify structural flaws, internal defects, missing welds, assembly discrepancies, and workmanship issues.
• Work from blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and inspection instructions.
• Perform microscope-based visual inspections.
• Use calibrated measuring devices to verify product dimensions and conformance.
• Accept, reject, or route defective products for rework.
• Accurately document defects and inspection results.
• Verify compliance with applicable IPC and workmanship standards.
• Monitor quality according to statistical-process or other control procedures.
• Coordinate with production and quality personnel to resolve inspection findings.

Pay

• $27.00–$36.00 per hour
