Electronics Quality Technician

Position Summary
The Electronics Quality Technician supports quality control, inspection, testing, and manufacturing activities for electronic products and assemblies. This role is responsible for inspecting printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), performing basic rework, documenting quality findings, and ensuring products meet established quality standards. This is a hands-on position that works closely with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and functional inspections of electronic assemblies and PCBAs using magnification tools and established quality standards.
  • Conduct basic soldering and rework on through-hole and surface-mount components.
  • Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions to support inspection and troubleshooting activities.
  • Assist with production testing and accurately document test results.
  • Maintain ESD-safe workstations and follow proper handling procedures for electronic components.
  • Support calibration, maintenance, and organization of quality control equipment and tools.
  • Document defects, non-conformances, and inspection results to support quality analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to identify and resolve product quality issues.
  • Follow safety, quality, and company procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, inspection, or quality control.
  • Knowledge of basic soldering techniques and electronic component identification.
  • Experience using multimeters, hand tools, and inspection equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and basic schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to successfully complete pre-employment screening requirements, if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC certification or equivalent electronics assembly/inspection training.
  • Knowledge of RF, digital, or electronic systems.
  • Experience with manufacturing test equipment and quality systems.
  • Familiarity with Windows or Linux-based test environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and move throughout a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials or equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work with small components and perform detailed visual inspections.
  • Occasional exposure to varying temperatures within warehouse, manufacturing, or lab environments.

Work Environment

  • Onsite position within a manufacturing and quality control environment.
  • Monday through Friday schedule.
  • Collaborative team environment supporting production, engineering, and quality operations.
