Job Title: Electronics Repair Technician III (3rd Shift)
Location: 7415 Emerald Dunes Dr Orlando, FL 32822
Pay Rate: $33.35 /hr. on W2. Weekly pay
Shift: 
3rd Shift (11:00 p.m.– 7:30 a.m. (week starts Sunday evening ). Must be flexible for overtime. The expectation is for the candidate to start on the 1st shift for 1- 2 month of training. After that, they will transition to their assigned shift.
Contract Length: 6 months contract (Potential for extension; conversion is unlikely at this time).
ComplianceFAA/DOT clearance is required. ESD safety shoes are mandatory.
Interview Process: In-person panel interview. the will have to complete a test technical test

Description

Position Summary

As a Electronic Repair Technician III, your role involves utilizing your extensive technical expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment to high-quality standards. You lead by example, overseeing shop activities, optimizing processes, and managing consumables. You also mentor and provide expert guidance to Tech I and Tech II technicians, ensuring their skill development. Your leadership and problem-solving abilities play a pivotal role in achieving production goals and maintaining quality standards.

Essential Functions / Key Areas of Responsibility

Tech III - Senior-Level Technician:
1. Equipment Troubleshooting and Repair:

  • Utilize extensive technical expertise to independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electronic equipment, adhering to high-quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Act as a mentor and provide expert guidance to Tech I and Tech II technicians.
  • Lead Chronic investigations and return reviews.

2. Shop Activities Monitoring:

  • Actively oversee daily shop performance, identifying and addressing root causes of issues.
  • Assign and coordinate work plans to meet production, training, and operational goals.
  • Maintain and update equipment status records for efficient tracking.

3. Process Optimization:

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to drive process improvements and lean concepts.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance repair procedures and documentation.
  • Lead material shortage assessments and propose solutions.

4. Shop Consumables Management:

  • Manage consumable inventory, including ordering, disposal, and compliance.
  • Ensure the Chemical Cabinet is maintained properly and safely.
  • Monitor and manage shop supplies to prevent shortages

5. Supervisory Role:

  • Assume supervisory responsibilities when lead is absent, coordinating tasks and protocols effectively.

6. Communication and Team Leadership:

  • Lead meetings with Team Lead, providing updates and strategic input.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review KPI performance, objectives, and address escalation needs, fostering a cohesive work environment

Minimum Requirements: Skills, Experience, Education, Technical/Specialized Knowledge, Certifications, Language

  • High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of six (6) years of work experience in electronics repair
  • Must speak, read and write English fluently
  • 4 years of working in a 145 FAA regulated environment
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are required
  • Electronics level 3 component repair experience
  • Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of complex electronic and mechanical systems to ensure optimal functionality
  • Exceptional attention to detail, safety, 5s understanding and implementation, and effective communication skills
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians, facilitating skill development and knowledge transfer.
  • Document detailed service reports, system diagnostics, and maintenance records for accurate tracking and analysis
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the Thales culture and values
  • Prepares detailed technical reports, recommends improvements, and may contribute to technical documentation updates
  • Must be well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations and other governing regulatory requirements
  • Lead experience or Inspection experience in a FAA 145 environment
  • Strong knowledge of FAA 145 regulations, troubleshooting, and ability to interpret maintenance manuals and schematics

Physical Demands

  • Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and/or up to twenty (20) pounds frequently
  • Hand/finger fine motor skills and dexterity required to handle small parts and to operate hand tools.
  • Must have the ability to use a variety of hand tools to test equipment frequently
