Job Title: Assistant Technician
Location: Phoenix, AZ

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Technician with strong soldering and electronics repair skills to support the troubleshooting, repair, and rework of electronic circuit boards and set-top box (STB) units. The ideal candidate will have experience with surface mount and through-hole soldering techniques, electronic testing equipment, and component-level repairs in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic equipment and circuit boards.
  • Perform soldering and de-soldering using both surface mount (SMT) and through-hole techniques.
  • Repair, modify, and replace electronic components on printed circuit boards (PCBs) and STB units.
  • Operate test and repair equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, voltmeters, soldering irons, and BGA repair machines.
  • Conduct quality inspections to ensure repaired units meet established standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and data entry of completed repairs and test results.
  • Read and interpret basic electronic schematics and technical documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with soldering and de-soldering electronic components.
  • Proficiency in both SMT and through-hole soldering techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies at the component level.
  • Experience operating electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret electronic schematics.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating BGA rework/repair equipment.
  • Previous experience in electronics manufacturing, repair, or rework environments.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and electronic assembly processes.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to handle small electronic components and perform detailed manual tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required within the work area.
