Job Title: Electronics Technician (Day Shift)

Job Description

This junior-level Electronics Technician role focuses on assembling, modifying, testing, and troubleshooting electronic assemblies used in medical diagnostic devices. You will work hands-on with analog and digital printed circuit boards (PCBs), RF circuits, and Doppler ultrasound electronics in a structured, quality-focused environment. This position is ideal for an early-career technician who wants to build practical experience with electronic test equipment and develop their skills in a regulated medical device setting while working a consistent day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, solder, modify, and rework analog and digital PCBs, including through-hole and basic surface-mount components.

  • Perform functional testing and basic debugging of PCBs and subassemblies under the guidance ofexperienced staff.

  • Use electronic test equipment such as digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, signal generators, and voltmeters to verify circuit functionality.

  • Assist with prototype builds and low-volume production runs for electronic assemblies.

  • Support testing of RF and Doppler ultrasound electronics, including performing signal integrity checks.

  • Identify straightforward component-level failures and assist with repairs on circuit boards and subassemblies.

  • Follow documented assembly, test, calibration, and repair procedures in accordance with quality system requirements.

  • Adhere strictly to ESD handling and control procedures to protect sensitive electronic components.

  • Accurately document builds, test results, troubleshooting steps, and repairs in line with established documentation standards.

  • Maintain an organized, clean, and ESD-safe work area, including work benches and test stations.

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support daily operations and continuous improvement activities.

  • Apply basic understanding of EMI/EMC and ESD concepts when working with electronic assemblies and test setups.

  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures to perform assembly, testing, and troubleshooting tasks.

  • Support electronic testing, debug activities, and calibration of circuit boards and electronic subassemblies.

Essential Skills

  • Practical experience testing electronic circuits or printed circuit boards (PCBs).

  • Basic soldering and PCB rework experience, including through-hole and surface-mount (SMT) components.

  • Ability to read and understand electronic schematics, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and technical documentation.

  • Proficiency with common electronic test instruments, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), voltmeters, and signal generators.

  • Hands-on experience handling, assembling, and testing PCBs and circuit boards.

  • Familiarity with analog and digital electronics fundamentals.

  • Experience working in a lab or manufacturing environment with electronic assemblies.

  • Comfort working in a structured, quality-focused environment with documented procedures.

  • Ability to perform electronics troubleshooting, debugging, and basic repair at the component level.

  • Understanding and practical application of ESD handling and control procedures.

  • Basic familiarity with EMI/EMC concepts as they relate to electronic circuits and testing.

  • Capability to use electronic test equipment for calibration, verification, and functional testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate degree in electronics, a technical certificate in electronics, or equivalent hands-on experience.

  • Experience with electronic repair, rework, and assembly in a production or lab setting.

  • Exposure to RF circuits and Doppler ultrasound electronics or a strong interest in learning these technologies.

  • Experience following structured test procedures and documenting test results and repairs.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

  • Interest in career progression from test technician to junior electronics technician and potentially to engineering technician.

  • Strong attention to detail and careful workmanship when soldering, wiring, and assembling electronic components.

  • Comfort using tools and equipment common in electronics labs, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, test fixtures, and ESD-safe tools.

Why Work Here?

You will join a small, family-oriented electronics environment where people genuinely enjoy coming to work. The company offers two weeks of paid time off and yearly bonuses, reflecting a commitment to recognizing and rewarding contributions. Average employee tenure is high, which speaks to the friendly atmosphere, calm work environment, and strong sense of stability. You will have clear opportunities for growth, with a defined progression path from test technician to junior electronics technician and eventually to engineering technician, allowing you to build a long-term career while continuously developing your skills.

Work Environment

You will work in a small electronics company setting with a close-knit team and a family-oriented culture. The facility is not a modern, high-gloss space, but it is a practical environment where people are valued and supported. Work is performed at electronics work benches alongside electronic assemblers, with a focus on careful, hands-on tasks involving PCBs and electronic assemblies. The role follows a consistent day shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., contributing to predictable hours and work-life balance. The workspace is ESD-safe and structured, with established procedures, test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters, and a calm, quality-focused atmosphere.
