Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Information Technology & Cyber Security Department (Code 109) of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will assist with providing development-level electronics technician duties involving installation maintenance, repair, and proving work status for all applicable areas of CCTV and other video monitoring equipment. You will be responsible for the analysis, testing, operations, and development of new technologies integration and maintenance of systems security to ensure a safe and secure work environment. You will participate in the installation, fabrication, testing and evaluation/research and development, sustainment, and troubleshooting new or modified security systems. You will apply fundamental electronics technician methods, principles, and practices of electrical and electronic test equipment such as multi-meters, function generators, mega-ohm meters, power supplies, oscilloscopes and cable testers. You will analyze the compatibility of interlocking components and systems. You will independently plan for installation and testing of security systems along interpreting policies and guidelines. You will be evaluating equipment, performance under varying environmental conditions; collection data; and developing or evaluating new or modified systems or monitoring frequency emissions by licensed stations. You will assist with developing and designing test and repairing equipment, installing complex systems and associated facilities; designing and associated facilities; designing and analyzing circuits; and determining feasibility of these designs. You will assist with/participate in the practices of schematic diagrams, drawing, and sketches; a variety of test equipment; fundamental electronics technician methods, and proper conduit bending and wiring techniques for electrical or installation. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-09: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing electronic techniques and/or methodologies to support decision making, problem solving or technique improvements for the optimization of vessel electronic system maintenance and repairs.
